This privacy policy explains how Video Splitter and AuthorFlow handle information when you use the desktop application, website, licensing service, or support channels.
Local video processing
Video files selected in Video Splitter are processed locally on your Windows computer. The application does not upload your source videos or generated clips to a cloud video-processing service.
Licensing information
Video Splitter connects to an online licensing service for activation, validation, and deactivation. Licensing requests may include the licence credentials, product identifier, a machine fingerprint, machine activation credentials, and information required to determine licence status.
The machine activation token is stored locally using Windows Data Protection API protection for the current Windows user and computer.
Standard network information
Cloud and network providers may process standard connection metadata, such as IP address, request time, and technical request information, to operate, secure, and diagnose the licensing service and website.
Diagnostics
Video Splitter can write a local diagnostics log at %LOCALAPPDATA%\VideoSplitter\diagnostics.log. The log is stored on your computer unless you choose to share it with support.
Support communication
When you contact support, we may receive the information you provide, including your email address, order information, licence details, and diagnostic information you voluntarily send.
Data retention and security
Licensing and support records are retained as needed to provide the product, prevent abuse, process refunds, resolve disputes, and meet legal or accounting obligations. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may request help correcting support or purchase information associated with you. Licence records may be retained where necessary for fraud prevention, refunds, legal obligations, and product administration.
